Mizuno Mezamashii Free Shoe Giveaway

Contest Over.  See winner at Mezamashii Winner.

I am constantly raving about my love of Mizuno, but about a week ago I shared my excitement about being picked to be part of the Mezamashii project.  Missed the explanation of what the Mezamashii Project is, no problem, check it out here.

Basically, Mizuno is striving to bring Brilliant Runs to more and more people.  Genius idea!

I am ridiculously excited about this... as if you couldn't tell from my video.

Now for the part you've all been waiting for - The Giveaway.
If you win you will receive your own free pair of Mizunos and become part of the Mezamashii Project yourself.  So how do you enter you ask?
That is the exciting part, you have multiple opportunities:
*Select one entry method, or complete all 5 for five times the chance of winning!

1. Tell me about a brilliant run you have had or about the brilliant run of your dreams. (leave a comment)

  1. My most brilliant run I've ever had was running 5 miles in 38 minutes at this time last year. I'm working back up to that and hopefully 35 by the end of the summer!

  2. My most recent "brilliant" run was an 11 miler I did on Saturday. I haven't ran double digits in a LONG time (being on the injured list stinks) so I was overly excited to accomplish the distance and in a decent time!

  3. My most brilliant run was the GW Parkway Classic in April of this year. It was a 10 miler and my best time yet! It was in the rain and felt absolutely fantastic to accomplish it. Hopefully my half in August will be my next brilliant run!

  7. I'm a night runner and love the quiet and the shadows along the marsh. I enjoyed a 6 mile at midnight last week with a full moon when it had finally cooled down from the heat of the day.

  11. My most brilliant run was the day I ran my first 10 miles (June 20) for my grandparents. My grandmother has late-stage Alzheimer's and my grandpa cares for her every day alone. His patience and love for her inspired me to raise nearly $600 in 20 days for the Alz. Association. I ran that 10 miles with all the heart I had that day. Memories of my grandmother got me through some of the toughest moments of that run, but in the end, I reached my goal...and cried tears of accomplishment and sadness. It was honestly a run I'll never ever forget.

  13. My most brilliant run this far was a recent 5K. I didn't feel great the morning of the race so thought I'd take it easy but with a decent time goal in mind. By the time the race started it was pouring. I didn't look at my watch until 2.5 miles into the race, at that point my shirt was soaked and felt 10 pounds heavier. Looking at my watch I realized I was actually on pace to PR -I didn't think I was trying THAT hard. An amazing surge came over me and I finished the race feeling like I could do it again...and again. I did PR and even though I was soaked to the bone, it felt amazing the whole time but especially once I crossed the finish line!

  25. And finally, my dream run - I'm not really a "runner" yet, but my dream would just be doing something that I cannot imagine I can even do - which right now is pretty much any amount of running...just the thrill and pride I would feel at going beyond what I *think* I'm capable of.

  26. Running my first half marathon was beyond brilliant! I trained hard for 8 weeks and crossed the finish line the day before my double mastectomy. That run meant so much to me, because I had taught myself to love my body for what it can do, rather than how it looked.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I have had a few brilliant runs that stood out and for different reasons. My first half marathon was most definitely a brilliant run. And my 3rd half not b/c it was a great run - I had been injured and hadn't run in 6 wks - but because I crossed the finish line with my husband for his first half.

  46. My most awesome run was a 20 mile trail run I did last year on the Fairfax County Cross County Trail outside of Washington DC. It was fall, so it was a bit cool, the leaves were turning, it was just muddy enough to be fun and the terrain was beautiful. It was easy to forget you were running through a hugely populated urban area while on the trail. It was brilliant!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I honestly feel like every run is brilliant in one way or another…….the way I see it, the only ‘bad’ run you have is the one you didn’t take!! But I did have an especially awesome and brilliant run on Tuesday of this week. My knee had been giving me problems the week before, and I went out on the run expecting that I may have to stop or go shorter than I intended. But my knee felt great! I felt incredible running through the redwood forest on my favorite trails, with a light breeze and a lovely 58 degrees. Feel free to be jealous, because it really was that great!

Must find the energy, time and motivation again but I'm determined to

I will finish with a smile on my face even if I struggled the entire time because I am happy to be out there. Running makes me healthy and happy and I consider that brilliant!

    ReplyDelete
  73. My most brilliant run this far was the time I first stepped off the treadmill and chose to run outside. It completely changed my perspective on running and as a result it changed my life. Now I love to get outside to run and am currently training for my first half marathon!!

  77. I’ve dealt with a health condition for half my life where my doctors said that I couldn’t and/or shouldn’t run. So I always took their word at face value. As I’ve slowly gotten healthier, first working on strength training and slowly building on running, I wanted to prove the doctors wrong. I started with one lap around the local high school track. I looked at my friend who has run marathons and said to her, “You do this for fun? You’re crazy.” Well, with a lot of hard work, I’ve just finished my second half marathon. Portland Rock & Roll being my first and Seattle Rock & Roll being my second. Although I had a good time at Portland, Seattle was my brilliant run. Everything clicked into place that day. My body felt great. It was an amazing experience. I’m hooked. I am hoping to run 3 more half marathons by the end of the year and will start training for my first full marathon next year.

  90. My brilliant run was entering to run The Color Run. The race was the day after I came back from a whirlwind trip to NYC to be on The Dr. Oz show so I was exhausted from traveling but the fact that at every K for the duration of the 5K there is a color zone I found myself looking enjoying the zones and looking forward to the rest. It didn't even feel like 5K which is the best kind of race!

  105. After our dinner last week and you talking me through this bout of bronchitis, I've decided to do something I've wanted to do for 3 years: run a half marathon. So in October, I'm going to run the Indianapolis 1/2. You've been my biggest inspiration to start running, though it has taken me much longer to get into it than it took you (3+ years... what!)

So anyway, I'm dreaming of being able to successfully complete that 1/2. Right now, I'm just happy to be adding distance, and am not concerned with time.

  110. My most recent Brilliant Run was last sunday during an 18-mile training run. I was feeling pretty gorked by mile 16 and was constantly checking my GPS to see if I was done yet, and then it started to completely downpour. Splashing through the gigantic puddles in the run really made me feel like a kid again and I had a huge smile for the rest of the run.
